Sinharaja Forest

 The Sinharaja forest is one of the most valuable resources in Sri Lanka.This forest,which is rich in high boidiversity,hase attracted a lot of attention in the last few weeks.It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1989.

            Sinharaja forest,one of the most unique creations on nature,is located on the borders of Ratnapura,Golle and Matara districts.It size is 11187 hectares.There are 5 peaks in the Sinharaja forest with a hight of more than 600 meters.The highest poing of Sinharaja is "Hinipitigala mountain ".Its hights is 1171 meters.

               The Sinharaja forest receives between 3000-6000mm of rainfall.Its annual tempereture is between 18-27 degrees celsius.There are receives good rainfall,which has created some beautiful waterfalls.There are "Brahmana fall,Dust fall,Pig Fallen fall,etc.

               Among the animals that live in the forest are a large number of animals endemic to Sri Lanka .Extremely rare species of snakes such as Tricolor Kenipathuwella and Kurun Karawalaa also live in this Sinharaja forest.
         Especially Rare Mammals,Fish species and Butterfly species can be found in this forest.
                 
Most notably,the Sinharaja forest is a watershed.This is why the Sinharaja forest has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO .
          
          IT IS DUTY  TO PROTECT THE SINHARAJA FOREST WHICH IS NO UNIQUE.
